According to a Commissioner Office official, 303 initiatives, including 123 new and 180 ongoing ones, are being finished in the Rawalpindi district as part of the Annual Development Programme (ADP).
She stated that the following projects were currently being worked on in the Rawalpindi district: 72 road projects, 36 urban development projects, 32 public buildings, 6 medical and specialised health care projects, 11 primary and secondary health care projects, 33 WASA projects, 7 irrigation projects, 42 local government projects, 26 school education schemes, and 9 higher education projects. She stated that once completed, these programmes would make life easier for residents of the Rawalpindi district. She stated that a meeting reviewing the advancement of ADP initiatives was chaired by Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta of the Rawalpindi Division.
According to her, 235 new ADP plans totaling Rs 94,564 million were introduced in the Rawalpindi division, and monies totaling Rs 7,147 million from the budget designated for the schemes were disbursed with 71 percent of it already being used.
The Commissioner instructed the relevant authorities to prioritise the repair of the education department’s unsafe and dilapidated facilities and to take the required steps in all other areas that had been deemed risky.
In addition, the Commissioner urged that steps be taken to raise educational standards and provide basic amenities in schools.
