Six-person organ transplant group found by police

A six-person group allegedly involved in depriving people of their kidneys and then selling those kidneys to other patients at a hefty price was purportedly busted, according to the Taxila police.

Police sources claim that during a raid, a police party caught six persons, including a doctor and nurse, red-handed.

In response to a tip, PHOTA employees and a police team lead by station house officer Sub Inspector SarmadIlyas conducted a home raid where they discovered a kidney transplant surgery in progress. Six people, including infamous transplant expert Dr. Fawad Mumtaz, nurse Sobia, paramedical personnel Muhamad Husnain, and Muhammad Shareef, were apprehended by the police in broad daylight.

Up to nine additional facilitators were able to successfully flee the area.

According to sources, a case was filed against the accused under the 2010 Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, and additional investigation was commenced. According to sources, the donor and recipient were sent to a hospital in Rawalpindi. After a week, Wah Cantonment police caught a man who had brutally murdered a female and dismembered her body into dozens of parts.

Hina Akbar, a 25-year-old victim, vanished on March 15 for an unknown reason, according to Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Taxila Circle) ASP ZaniabAyub.

Near Rawalpindi, she claimed to have later discovered body parts cut into bits and packaged in plastic bags. She claimed that Tipu Meer, the suspect, was tracked down by police using digital and technical means, and that he confessed to killing the girl while being questioned. The girl was blackmailing the suspect, according to the ASP, and forcing her to marry her or face the repercussions. As a result, the suspect had no alternative but to get rid of her so that no one would be able to piece together how she died.
