According to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema, more than 500,000 worthy families in the district will receive more than 1.5 million free free flour bags.
He said he was stopping by various mega-locations that distributed free flour to check on all the preparations made for the public’ convenience and to observe the distribution of free flour to them.
He promised that the district of Rawalpindi would always receive free flour. He stated that everyday flour sacks were being given out to more than 50,000 eligible individuals in the Rawalpindi district.
Inattention on the side of the officials would not be tolerated, he told the concerned officials to treat the individuals who come to get flour with respect. He said that attempts were being made to help the populace, and that the administration was giving grain to needy and deserving individuals as part of an initiative initiated by the Punjab government. The DC reported that the administration has established 10 mega sites to provide free flour to the needy and worthy on the orders of the Punjabi government.
As per Hasan Waqar Cheema, there are four mega spots in Rawalpindi and one in each tehsil. Each mega point had four workstations, two for men and two for women, he added.
In order to help the locals, he said, 232 trucking sites were also set up in the Rawalpindi region specifically for Ramadan.
