ISLAMABAD: After accepting the resignation of Barrister Shehzad Ata Elahi, who departed the position after less than two months in the position, President Arif Alvi on Monday named Mansoor Usman Awan as the next Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP).

According to a statement from the Aiwan-e-Sadar, the president gave his approval for the appointment in accordance with Article 100 of the Constitution, and he will have the same standing as a federal minister.

The Dean’s Award for Leadership was given to Awan by Harvard Law School. (2005). In addition to being chosen as the LLM Representative to the Harvard Law School Council, he served as vice president of the Harvard Graduate Council.
